ok so i picked up some cheap rims from my mate's dad so i am no longer ashamed to show my ride. just need a few exterior parts colour coded and a lowering job and a stock bumper and i'll be happy.

colour code side strips = easier said than done... they are eurithaned and double sided taped on which makes for a very VERY fiddly and time consuming removal... and would take a sprayer a long time.. also difficult to tape up that small area to spray them still on the car.. so unless u have alot of time and patience.. its a hrad job.. Love the XR rims on XT's.. lower it and that bar off and it will be one sweet ride.. Well done

yeah as i said i plan to get the side moulds and mirrors colour coded sell the bar and get her lowered, in a bit of a canundrum at the moment as my insurance only allows a 30mm lowering from stock levels meaning i would only be about 5mm lower than a stock XR, need to decide if i change companies as there is no point voiding my insurance and still paying the $$$!
i was also going to get XR side skirts and rear skirt until i got some quotes on price and decided my car looked better with stock skirts and bars and the $1100 spent under the bonnet. Rhyso

haha cheers mate, car came with it so i had no choice. heres some better pics.
i would drop it with XR springs but my mate took me for a ride in his XR6 ute and it was lowered with lovell heavy duty sports springs and it is solid as a rock, no body roll and that's how i want mine, plus he can get them installed for me for a VERY good price. but when spending money like that why pay a few hundred $$$ and only lower it 30mm when i can legally and want to lower it more? i would really like the wheel arch sitting just above the tyre. that would be tough... i've had a look at some photochops and some other peoples BA on the net and made some measurements on my car and i reckon with the 17" rims it looks weird with the car so low that the guards are the level of the rubber, because the arches are still flaring out and the rims are curving back in. i reckon a 30mm drop would be perfect. since it is only 5mm below a stock XR i might try find some second hand XR shocks to pretty much match the springs.
i'm getting way ahead of myself though, the bank doesn't stretch that far. Rhyso
