Does anyone have a hi stall that also uses their car for towing?
I've got a EF i6 w/ XR 3.45 LSD and shift kit. I'm assuming that it would help with towing.

wat u have now should be heaps ... dont know that it will assist with towing once the car is in motion but certainly on take off it will.

I would have thought a stally would have adverse effects on towing ... especially when taking off from standstill with heavy load on.

yeh spose i just would have figured with the higher stall speed for heavy load take offs u can bring the revs up more when u do go to take off.

i would have thought that if you had a stally while towing, it'd be slipping, and therefore create ALOT of heat.

stally is usually a big no no with towing. No idea why, I've just been told not to do it, if you like your gearbox to stay functional.

Hmm might email the Mock boys about it.
Thanks for the input guys. Changing the diff ratio and the addition of the LSD made a huge difference.

Well I would have thought if you were taking off with load on ... the stall converter would lock up when reaching the normal 1800rpm limit and allow tractive power to pull you from standstill. If you had a higher stall converter in it'd rev more before it locked up ... then in turn whil trying to take off you'd be baking the rear tyres ... and causing huge amounts on internal gearbox heat as well. Not exactly the best for towing really.
