Hey fellas,
My dad is test drivin one of the mkII BA xr6's, cause he is thinking of gettin a new bf xr6 (they didnt have one he could take for a drive) anyways.... The problem is that whenever he goes up our driveway (its a bit steep) he just scraps the bottom of the rear bar (i think) on the concrete. Now is there anythin that he could get or do or somethin, so that whenever he goes up the driveway, he wont be scraping the bottom of it. Its gonna be a company car so i dont think he'd be allowed to put on aftermarket suspension or whatever

make some ramps to your driveway i had to do it for dads fairlane it scraped to get up the gutters so i got the welder out made a ramp and bolted into the ground

Hmmm. Does it help if he goes really slow?
My EF XR6 (stock suspension) and the old man's BA XR6T (stock suspension) both scrape on both mine and his driveway if you go out of them at anything other than crawling speed. |

have you tryed coming in on more of an angle to the driveway if ya got the room to turn that tight.

buy a new house, i would happily move if it meant i could have an XR6 for a company car

Yeah we tried a couple things, he chucked it in a lower gear and rided slowly, and angled it n stuff, and most of the time it scraped. There was one time though when he went on an angle it went up fine, but its like a mill. difference between the rear bar and the concrete most of the time :S
I suggested havin a ramp of some sort, so yeah see where that leads...... unless anyone else has got a better idea lol??? |

Get a turbo territory?
That way you can have performance and have no issues with height.

you will find if you go at the right angle you will get up it fine.
when you get used to it it is quite useful, something you would scrape the centre of the car on you can now get up. just make sure when you reverse out you do the same. if turning left into the drive get the front left wheel up first by a decent amount and keep taking that angle, so when the back goes up the back left will go into the drive first. it sounds like a pain but you quickly get used to it and you can be suprised how much extra clearance you can find. your drive must be pretty steep to get the rear bar caught on it

i just bought a house with a driveway that goes up the gutter then down about 1m and i haven't hit it yet.
you basically have to creep and go on an angle.

Yeah we've like tried everythin we can, except we gonna have a go at that ramp idea....
Oh well he can always have my spot on the nature strip and ill have the garage lol |
