I will take any advice on how to remove this sucker, and note i'm two fins down from hammering and not owning a shed full of tools (and too proud now to pay a mekanik to fit my second hand $80 pump & sender)

persevere. did mine recently, somehow the o-ring started leaking, after pullingit all out, seeing it was fine, and putting it back together the leak stopped - grrr.
small taps with a blunt object on each 'fin' don't concentrate on one or two, use all of them, it'll take a fair bit of time, but it'll give. also did you remove the 'pipe clamp' ? (also not fun, little f**k 8mm spanner, on 1/8th a turn, off, on 1/8th turn....

get a piece of timber, about 50cms long, and drill two holes in it just under the size of the large cap, press in two long bolts with washers on either side and tighten up the bolts with the nuts, (use like 10cm bolts) this makes a great spanner for it!
one 5/16ths single hex spanner will open the hose clamp with ease

Its fixed!!! and like most things, easy when done once!
I couldn't find any metal in shed worthy of "the tool" so i went the wood and bolts!! I might upload a piccy but its similar to the other one A tech docu would have been good on this! especially to make sure you haven't cross threaded the ring and the sender is rattly Then send the docu to Klosters in Newcastle as the butt f***ers tested my fuel gauge system last month and left it loose so i spilt 20 litres of fuel across town between work and home, I ring em up and they didn't even give a hoot, or apologise, or even care, especially when i told em i wouldn't go back to them even just to get air in my tyres!!! at least they fixed it and replaced my lost fuel (after prompting)
