Hey everyone. The brake booster in my EBII feels pretty crappy (as my other Eb did as well). The pedal is quite hard. My mum has an EF Futura and you barely have to touch the pedal for it to work great. Are all the boosters on the Ef's etc the same? The futura wouldn't have a better one would it? I am thinking of grabbing a EF or EL booster from a wrecker and whacking it into my EB to improve pedal feel. Has anyone else done this?
P.S Do I need to change the master cylinder also?

i've never done it but have you checked the rest of the braking system like calipers, rotors, pads?
have you bleed the system?

The master cylinders are not interchangeable, you will need an EF booster/cylinder set. You will also need to drill a couple of holes from memory. As above, try a flush and bleed first and inspect the system.......

Rotors and pads are ok. The current booster is actually working but it just requires a harder pedal push. My other EB I have was exactly the same. I think all the EB and ED models were like that (other than tickford ones). I just want to swap the cylinder and booster from an ef as I noticed they barely require any pedal effort to brake well.

Maybe the booster is leaking, or the diaphragm inside is slip. Usually is the cause of a fairly stiff pedal.
If have the booster from an ED XR6 at home for sale. If your interested in upgrading yours, drop me a PM. |
