doing a EF/EL conversion on my car and was baffled on how i was going to fit the console. I got a console, but, while browsing Ebay i noticed this:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/EF-EL-CENTRE-CON ... otohosting

It looks like that console is on a plastic/fibreglass stand, is that factory? and how hard is it to fit over the top of the EA-ED transmission tunnel???[/img]

yer the support bracket on the ef/el centre console is a plastic/fibreglass construction.. but i am not to sure how it will fit over the EA-ED tunnel...i shouldn't imagine there would be too much trouble

thanks, it was a bit deceiving, because when i first looked at pics like this

it looked as if the cover was metal becuase the interior is silver! lol!

mabey someone who has done a EF/EL conversion would know if there are any issues fitting it. I assume i will have to drill some holes for it

From memory (when I converted my NA), it sat in there just fine. I think I used a couple of self tappers to hold it in place. Just make sure you line it up properly so that the console will meet up with the dash.
