Hey guys.
Ive got 2 issues with my car at the moment: First of all, the brakes pulsate severely under heavy braking, especially at high speeds! You can feel it badly through the steering wheel! The car currently has DBA slotted rotors & brembo pads up front. The other issue i have is that the car wanders slightly on different road surfaces. I know that this is sometimes considered 'normal' under different circumstances, but the car has never done this before & has only recently just started doing this - the steering kinda feels 'lose'. Also, the car has had 2 wheel alignments in the past 6 months & is starting to go out of alignment again?? By the way, the car is an elxr8 with 105,000ks on the clock.. |

check your wheel bearings,
This may be the cause of some of the 'bump steer' It could also explain the pulsating of the brakes, check all ball joints, and steering rack too. If you find any of these the culprit, do me a favor, don't go back to that tyre joint if you've been there a few times complaining its wandering. They should always give it a quick lookover whilst they're doing the alignment!

Pulsating/shudder at high speeds whilst braking doesnt always mean warped rotors. A combination of slightly unbalanced wheels and worn shocks can cause the wheels to "bounce". As above check wheel bearings if the problem is still there check the shocks and have the wheels balanced.

Sounds the same as my current problems (EF XR6).
Im replacing the rotors because they were warped (shuddering) and getting new wheel bearings put in while im at it (reccomeneded by the guys on here), which may also fix the tiny bit of wander i get on some roads too. Also check the steering rack is loose, mine was slightly loose and we tightened up all the bolts each end and it felt much better.
