im hopinh my rotors get here today (if not long wait, fuken public holidays) and going to go buy new seals and bearings soon.
however, reading the gregories this did not make sense. (page 177 for those who want to look) (7) While rotating the hub, tighten the hub bearing nut to a torque of 30Nm (8) Loosen the hub bearing nut half a turn (9) Tighten the hub bearing nut to a torque of 1.5Nm please explain? tighten it? then loosen it? then tighten it? (if u can even call 1.5Nm tightening?)

it would be to settle the hub on all the way, then release it to a suitable tension for expansion and friction.
i have always done it by feel, tighten the hub on while spinning it, when there is too much friction and get hard to turn back it off till it frees up alittle but has no play, sounds like a dodgie way of doing it bu ti am very thorough, never had any problems.

and always check it again after a few thousand kays. I made that mistake and after it all bedded in my bearings were loose and I got shuddering again. I just had the discs (Slotted DBA's) skimmed and fixed the shudder. I need to flush the fluid as it's been 2 years since I rebuilt the calipers and they are getting spongy. I now think you need to re-torque the fronts every 10,000km to avoid the shudders as I have been terrible at not servicing. the engine is fine with just regular oil changes and occasional plugs/leads . I have had mechanics under the bonnet 3 times in 190,000 klm and they never made any difference that I couldn't have fixed easily myself. The main worry is coolant leaks.
