hello fellow ford enthusiasts-need advice on putting el broadband manifold on 1993 ed xr6.i have read that you need- el computer for ignition curve,el knock sensor, and the manifold itself.do i need el airbox, manifold piping etc.is the the throttle body the same as ed because i can get everything from ford i need except the the throttle body which is obsolete.also my ed has a chiptorque chip.will i have to get a different chip to run with the el computer?any advice would be appreciated

If you have a chiptorque you might not need to do the EL ecu swap. You might just be able to get them to load an EL timing map onto your ED ecu, then switch the runners with an rpm switch.

Yes you will need the intake pipes and airbox, but I wouldnt be getting anything from ford - be much cheaper from a wreckers.

i done the same conversion, and i wish now that i had just bought an el xr6. It would have been easier and i would have had a newer better car.

AS fot advice, if ur gona get someone else to do it 4 u, make sure u get a full list of what u need and agree on a price b4 u start. Dont 4get that u need the throttle body from the ef cause of the acceleration cable, and so on.

I believe u will need an el ecu, or go aftermarket. I used an EMS 4420 [i think].

you will also need a the top part of a ef-elthermostat housing fuel rail

not sure about the heater line that goes around the block

Ef_el throttle pedal with cable and i think you have to change some heater hoses as well?
