G'day All,
I bought a EB II GLi ( Station wagon) 5.0 a little while ago and serviced it myself just after I got it and it has been going very well. I had been getting great fuel economy around town and excellent economy on the highway. But to get that, I replace the EGO's, all the hoses in the engine bay, plugs, leads, oil and filter, fuel filter & pump, etc etc and had the exhaust analyised etc and it went well. But... last month I gave the girl a new oil filter and oil change, I bought Valvoline oil and filter. After the change the oil pressure went through the roof and stayed there. I thought it could have been the oil pressure sender unit ( I went to Ford and gave them the VIN id and they said it was a factory SPack, so it had the SPack instruments), but it stayed there. Then I changed the filter back to a motorcraft filter and the pressure went back to normal. So after all that, I would like to know what you guys consider the better oil and spark plugs for the vehicle. And would that be the same for the EB II 4.0, as my father has one. Any ideas would ge great. |

I use penrite oil (20w/50) semi synthetic for mine when it was stock, all the time and it worked well. Maybe castrol magnatec? I would also stick with the motorcraft oil filter too.
As for plugs, NGK's are usually everyones recommendations on here. The iridiums i cant justify the price when they don't really better performance or economy, u just change them less often. |

Ok I use either Valvoline or Ryco oil filters & the oil pressure is always sweet & castrol 20/50 oil is fine.
