I got my SS Inductions fitted today, by my local mechanic. He did a wicked job.

It is heaps bigger than the Tickford one. The Tickford one, is the pick for being cheap. But if you want to get just that little extra breathing, go the SS if you got the money.

Not saying I'd take the same approach, but what’s wrong with a bit of imaginative approach to improvisation!

It might be bigger, but bigger is only better if the snorkel is a restriction. If you have a look at the rest of the intake I think it is very unlikely that the snorkel is much of a restriction at all (if any). I use an EL-GT snorkel on mine which is roughly the same size as the tickford ones. Compare the size of the snorkel to the 2" pickup that is in the EF airbox lid (EF airbox lid flows the best).

I would be very interested to see any dyno figures supporting power gains. I have dyno'ed my engine with stock intake and with a modified intake (bored out throttle body, 3" mandrel bent pipe. modified airbox with 3" bell mouth pickup, k&n panel filter, and EL-GT snorkel) and got equivelent results (well, 1kw less with modified intake).

I have an EF Airbox Lid, ready to go in, when i get a new intake pipe. The intake tube adapter, has been changed is almost twice as big as the original one that was there. I feel it does better, slightly...
