the 6cyl radiator will keep a standard 302 cool no probs, we had one fitted behind our 302 clevo for 12yrs without a single problem, and not once did it over heat.

when I built the xc I had a 6cyl radiator in it for 2 years until it sprung a leak from old age. Never over heated or got above 3/4 on the heat gauge either towing a trailer with another car on it or flogging it stupid through the back roads. Only differerence to yours was I had a manual. I did later on install a gt radiator from an outo and had to recut the side mounts on the car body to make it fit properly but all was good with the 6cyl unit.

As for the throttle from memory the v8 throttle cable is longer than the 6 so youl need a cable for around $50 and the bracket that bolts onto the engine as well.
