Just a quick question

Anyone else running a duel fueller with LPG and 98 RON (i.e. BP ultimate, synergy, vortex 98) and now has trouble running the car on LPG after several tank fulls of 98R?

I've been running 98Ron for a while now and now its impossible to drive the car on LPG, the car just doesnt want to go, put your foot into it and nothing happens.. just crawls at maybe 20km/h max.

its taken me about a week of diluted 98ron (like ultimate with regular unleaded in it) to sour the ECU timings enough just to crank the LPG system over. Do I have any other options to get LPG running properly again other than to disconnect the battery and let the ECU start learning all over? :(

Vialle gas system.

Hmmm mabe thats why my XR6 is stuffing up for!! I use both LPG and the 98 RON fuels. I cant really remember how the car drove on normal petty but it did have a lumpy idle that was about it.

Lately its been driving s**t, pretty much doing the same thing your car is doing.

Can anyone else shed some light on this please.

LPG has an octane rating higher than 98.. so that shouldnt be the problem.

Generally with LPG you can advance timing a few degree's.

Had my XR8 running duel fuel when I first got it and did'nt have any such problems. Mind you that it would ping its tits off on normal unleaded and I had to run the 98 all the time when not on gas.
Are you's fellas talking about 6's here or the 8's though ??

Cause my 8 had a dizzy !

remember though, you can get bad lpg and it will make your car ping..

the cheapest lpg servo's arent always the worst but arent always the best.. just keep away from caltex/woolies servo's for gas.

makes a big diff from good to bad gas, on s**t lpg my car will also ping and cause me issues!

Its the same BP autogas I always use.

I don't think its pinging, its more like it has no grunt at all above 1700 rpm. If you sit in the car and rev the f**k out of it in P, as soon as you hit about 2000rpm it starts to shudder and sound like its going to stall (but doesnt)

The idle on gas is beautiful tho, sounds almost like a V8, has a nice burble to it at the pipe.

I dont like LPG. I only use 98->100 RON fuels only.

In another 5 or so years the governments tax free LPG regulation will be removed and they'll start taxing LPG just like regular fuel. So its not worth the conversion anymore, hence LPG! arghhh.
