I am building a ef motor for a turbo project and was just wondering if anyone knows the specifics on what is different about the 2 blocks.

Later EF's had the engine number stamped in front of the bell housing. EB's to early EF's are stamped under where the power steering sits.
EF's have a drilled and tapped hole for the knock sensor near cylinder 5, as well as having a drilled and tapped hole in front of where the cam syncroniser sits for the bracket that holds it down. Otherwise, I do believe the blocks are exactly the same. |

Not that I'm aware of, maybe someone can shed some light on it.
They are essentially the same blocks that have been used since the X-Series days. |

where do you pick up the oil pressure from to feed the turbo bearings

T-Piece on the oil pressure swtich/sensor port on the passenger side of the block.
Or if your game enough, just run a hose straight from the port, not worrying about the oil sensors anymore. |
