I haven't been getting any heat from my EF Fairmont climate control and everytime I try my coolant goes down considerably. I did the climate control diagnostics and I got no errors but on the self test I got
# A Cool discharge air when system is set to 30*C - Heater Malfunction - Check if hot water valve is open, if not check vacuum hoses - Blend door not in maximum heat position - Check blend door motor - Cabin sensor is shorted - Check sensor and sensor wiring loom I think there must be a coolant leak in my heater thats causing coolant to go down everytime I use it and no heat to come from my climate control. Anyone had a similar problem and how can it be fixed? Thanks in advance, Luke. |

If you had a coolant leak in the heater core you would notice coolant inside the cabin. If it was leaking from the heater hoses prior to the core you would see coolant on the ground.
I would say check you heater tap.

evaporator drain could be clogged, but sounds like heater tap isn't working or the vacuum line on it has fallen off.

This is clear water?? then its condensate from the evaporator. Its normal to find it on the ground, but if your getting it dripping on your feet then the drain is blocked. If the vacuum line had fallen off the tap would be fully open, giving heat. The heater tap only requires vacuum to close it.
