The only reason youd get one is to go up to 210Km/h.. and thats not really even a rational reason. Cheers That's disappointing, I thought it would at least have an xr6 fuel map. So you don't think it's worth it even for sharper gear changes? for it to need XR6 fuel and spark maps all cop cars would have needed XR6 spec engines. other wise it's pointless |

Thanks guys, you've just saved me from wasting my money. So a shift kit it is. I'm just a little edgy about cutting into wires from the ecu. Do you think it's worth using plug in joiners? I had my gearbox serviced about 10000km, should i get it done again before i experiment with the shift kit??

your gearbox should be fine as long as you don't go too far out with the shift kit, stay within limits, and you'll be fine (or if you're buying it already made never mind).
Yes, use plug in joiners, that way it can be easily removed re-installed. Cheers

testing out new install by twisting and taping, next thing you know, things catch fire.
Actually one of them was feeding 80 amps through one 40 amp relay.. lol, that was good fun.. Live and learn. Cheers

Try soldering as well as twisting and taping. It will get very hot if just twisted and high current.

crimp lugs is one step up from twist and tape.
I always solder. Even if it means hanging molten lead over your face while soldering upside down for a roof light, or ignition coil.
