You EL Ticky Ghia should be keeping with 165kw 5.0 litres as it is...

If you want to beat them, as already said, headers + exhaust will get you in front. A mild cam will have you slaughtering them...

A 5 speed and you will not only be taking it to dirty old SS's, but you will be beating Clubsports in no time (like I do  ).

Yeahs ago, I had a VS commodore 5.0L ex chaser. But i modified the hell out of it. But when it was stock (only during the first few weeks I owned it), I don't remember it being much faster than my dads VS Commodore V6. Same goes for my EB V8, standard it was nothing special, barely faster than the commie V6.

Maybe the EL Ghia with Tickford motor would beat em standard. Anyhow, I have te 3.45diff, Extractors, exhaust, high flow cat, K&N panel filter and AU XR Snorkel. Should do the trick on a stockie VN/VS 5.0L V8?.

Reason why I ask the question is because I was going to buy either the EL Ghia or buy the commie 5.0L. Picked the EL but still turning if i made the right decision. Want to know mine is just a little quicker in addition to having all the creature comforts..

Yep. The 165kw 5.0 litres aren't all that much quicker than the V6 Commies. They just feel better. They certainly aren't anything that special and with the mods you have on your EL, you KNOW you will beat a 165kw 5.0 litre and at the very least, stick with a 185kw :)

Im a V8 man deep down, but driving the EL ghia, i need to know it can lick a V8. If the i6 can beat it then im happy to drive it.
