yep blocks will do the trick. check my gallery for a couple of examples of lowered wagons using blocks. yours will not sit as low though as xr's sit a bit lower to start with. these have 2in blocks fitted. just bear in mind though that i did mine for looks only. depending on what you plan doing with your wagon it may be better to get them reset although i haven't had too much drama with mine. just make sure the bump stop above the dif is in good nic otherwise tailshaft can hit the floor. i have towed a trailer with 1 tonne of weight in it and also had back loaded up for interstate trips with family and no dramas.

Love the wagons :)

Are they genuine XR's?

I wish there was a good, manual Wonder Wagon around here I could snap up.

2 inch blocks will lower it 2 inches, 2.5 inch blocks will lower it 2.5 inches etc etc

I put 2 inch blocks in my wagon, looks good, but scrapes a bit.

Alternatively, King Springs make lowered leaf springs. This is the option I plan on taking for my ride.
Whiteline do lowering blocks.

Mate, if I wasn't already in love, I'd be taking your bank account details :)
