hi guys.. i have a eb xr8 ex wa police car obviously it has been thrashed.
but being a police vehicle it would have been always serviced.
i have had it for 2 years now it gets thrashed every day.
it gets oil changes every 5000 km.it has done 170,000 kms
and it doesnt ratle, blow smoke or leak oil.
i know it hasnt been rebuilt because i know the second owner.
so i say it should be ok....
thats my opinion........ :) :) :)

Well I had another drive of it tonight this time without the little kid excitment running through my veins.

There was a vibration coming through the steering wheel when driving at any speed and the drivers door is a replacement. It has no security sticker on it and it felt like it didnt quite close right.

I've given it a miss  . It was hard to walk away from so I'm now on the hunt for a V8 EF GLI and must be white.

1: it's a cooler colour in summer
2: it's easily seen at night (dont laugh)
3: it doesnt show up dust, etc as easily as darker colours

I think it looks best on EFs. Just my personal preference.

Also one of the mobs I asked for a quote on a converion to manual they said $4000. Thats a joke. A couple of people at Fordmods had it done for $1600 to $2400.

Having both a Heritage Green (v dark version) car and a regency red (pearl) colour - i can say the green sure looks sleek when clean, but give it 30min and its looking quite dusty n dirty again, and dont even think about driving it if you wanna keep it looking half respectable :P
Red or lighter colours all the way!

if the copper that drives it isn't a dumb f**k, he will bed the motor in as much as possible before he floggs t he s**t out of it, so you have a chance of getting a good one for sure.
but most woudl just put their foot down from day 1

Hey Timmeh,
I think you should look around some more
I found my AU XR8 with nearly $30k worth of modification
and only paid $22k for it
As luck would have it the guys wife quit her job and he needed the cash
An absolute steal. It already had all the stuff done to it that I was going to do, and a bucket load more that I never could afford otherwise.
I'm not saying buy an AU, but if you look hard enough you will find your dream EF XR8, and in the meantime you will be able to save more money towards the right one.
All this is just my opinion of course, and the ex-cop EF sounds pretty good, but as the others guys have said, have a master inspection done on it. I did on mine and it was well worth the joyous feeling when the report came back thumbs up.
Good Luck.
