Ok heres something that is confusing me

I have a full nine inch conversion for an XE ( Coil spring set up )

What i was wondering is - the 9 inch is a drum brake diff and the one coming out is a disc brake diff

Are the master cylinders that same or different?

i think they're slightly different, but it shouldn't affect braking.
well it didn't change when i put a disc 9in. on my ute.
but you will find the handbrake cable will be different.

drum brake pistons require different amount of
fluid to move then disc brake calipers... not sure
which is greater

should be able to take master cylinder to any
brake place and have the piston replaced to suit
new drum setup... will cost $$$ tho

Can i ask why dont you change it to a disc brake?
Not hard to do and cheap. get axles modified and add a hand brake cable bracket. then use your original brakes.
