Hey guys.
Was finally about to purchase a set of superlow king springs & shocks for my elxr8, but was informed that some shocks are a mismatch with lowered springs.. Heres exactly what he emailed me: Quote: My choice for quality is KYB.. But you have to have short shocks on the rear to keep the springs from falling out.. KYB Gabriel and Monroe list short shocks ..But in fact all are there normal length shocks.. Only Ultraride have an actual short shocks listed .. I have done this exercise before and gone through the catalogues and comne up eith shorter shocks as required.. Kept a list for commodores somewhere but cant find it..So would have to do it all again.. The best thing to do is to jack your car up as it is now..Measure the exact length of the extended shock..Mounting point to mounting point.. While still bolted in position..Then I can work out the right length shock for the Superlow springs..And hence make a recomendation then.. Best Regards Does this seem right to you guys? I know there are a few elxr8's on here with superlow kings.. Do yous have any issues? What sorta shocks are yous runnin? Lovells..$109 per pair.. Ultraride..$109 per pair.. King ..$119 per pair.. My recommendation is KYB Shocks and your choice of Springs for the best setup.. Normally KYB Shocks are a lot more expensive than the other Brands.. What do these prices seem like? And what sort of shocks would yous recommend with superlows? ..Keeping in mind that i dont wanna fork out anymore than $330 for a set of shockers.. Cheers fellas! |
