I have a Sony CDX-S2210 H/U installed in my '98 EL Fairmont Ghia and wish to connect it (via the RCA outputs) to the factory amplifier. I only wish to use the factory amplifier to power the factory sub-woofer.

My question is:

The H/U has two RCA outputs, they can be used for either rear speaker output or sub-woofer output. I am wondering which RCA inputs I need to connect the two RCA plugs to on the amplifier? I was of the opinion that a sub-woofer is a mono speaker, therefore, shoudn't there be only one RCA plug and wire running from the H/U?

If anyone has attempted this before I would appreciate any advice you may be able to provide me with.

Thank You.

Anthony

P.S. For further clarification photo's of the factory amplifier can be found in my FordMods members photo gallery.

if the fctory amp has two RCA inputs then connect both RCA's to it, if it only has one RCA input the get a Y peice and bridge both sides into one. The effect will be the same,
I have two RCA's going into a sub amp but have the amp switched to mono mode so it plays both sides of the music through the sub (or maybe just the left side?)

Or, you can bridge the sub so that it plays all.
