Yeah tried Optimax Extreme, a few months ago, did the normal three tank trial.

I guess for even a mildly modded EL, not worth the extra moola - I though ethanol was supposed to make cheaper fuel. Nothing wrong with it however. I'll be sticking to my Vortex98.

Anyhoo, I guess if you were running alot of boost, it'd be great.

Jase runs it in his Fairmont.. absolutely swears by it. No detonation issues as experienced with 98RON fuels.

i used it a couple tanks back and i must say i noticed a big improvement. I have an EL XR6 5 spd and with 98ron, if i puched it in 2nd round a corner there was no wheel spin, withh the 100 octane i got considerable slippage and the bum started stepping out. Freaked me out when it happened but i think the inlaws were even more shocked as i almost run them over in the process   [ :) ]

Ive been swapping between Extreme and Ultimate in both cars for awhile now.
I used to think the Extreme made the volvo feel quicker, but its the opposite now... I run 17psi on the volvo, it has a very sensitive knock sensing system that has a very noticable reaction, it retards timing a fair bit on the smallest ( undetected by hearing ) amonts of detonation.
When using Extreme, on hot days, you can feel it dramatically retard timing when pushing the car hard, usually does this between 1st to 2nd gearchange ( auto ).
When using BP Ultimate it never does this, even on those really hot days we had. So now the volvo always gets Ultimate.

As for the ED, I dont really drive it offen enough to notice any difference, plus its running less boost than the volvo, so who know.

BP Ultimate for me... or Synergy.
