Hey,
I was at a wreckers the other week, and they had an "ED XR6 Manual" ECU for sale. 93DT 12A650 BA that was the number - luckily I rang ford before I purchased it - and discovered it was an auto ECU. Ford told me that if it ended in AA it would be a manual ECU. Now I am looking at another "EDXR6 Manual" ECU for sale, and the number is completely different. 9326 2008 E9AF 14A624 AA Ford is closed at the moment, so I cant call them to confirm - does anyone here know what it is?

strange I haven't seen a ECU with a number formatted like that, and it' smissing the familiar ##DT code at the beginning.
First 8 chars look like a phone number - call it.

There should be a white sticker on the other side of the connector - get the ford no off it - for an ED XR6 manual, should be like 93DT-12A650-AA.

So I take it there's no sticker on it (the top connector) or the bottom (plastic J3 port cover).
If you really need to know, I can download the bin and find out from chip itself.

To bad you're mexican, as I only need it for about 15 minutes.
Here's an example of what I'd see. From a 6DNB (EL I6 Cop Auto): On the third line you've got 96DANB The catch code is pulled from there. Take the last digit of the year: 6 the next letter: D the last two letters: NB the A in there shows it's a ford part (a T would be present in a tickford part). MY XR6 ecu has 96DTEE in it (catch code is 6TEE)

Hey folks,
I know a 1DAC is a manual EB EEC. You may find that others like 2DAC,3DAC or 1DAB,2DAB,3DAB exist that are are also manual EEC's. If you think you are being scammed when it comes to buying one of these the easiest way to tell will be to whip the cover off and you'll notice a very a*** component layout. The Auto EEC's have a much higher component count due to the drivers needed for the trans solenoids. Pete. |

No wuckers,
Just remember look for an "A" as the 3rd letter of the catch code for manual 6cyl EA-ED EEC's. ie; 0DA*, 7DA*,1DA*,2DA*,3DA*. Take your known auto EEC with you(with the lid off) and compare. If they won't let you take the lid off....tell em they can keep it. Pete. |
