I was chasing a Fairlane today which was chasing a biker and I was gaining on him too. It was one of the Fairlanes that went with either the XD or XE in the early eighties. I was then starting to wonder what that range had under the bonnet, whether it was a 302 or a 351. I'm under the impression that 302's were the go for those models, is that correct?

ZJ and ZK were 250, 302 or 351. Due to the recovering fuel crisis most were 250 or 302. All were 3 speed autos. None had 9" diffs.

Today everyone fits 351 to them. They're heavy and need the power move.

All ZL's has 250 with 3 speeds.

Okay so the Fairlanes were quite heavy ( as usual I suppose ) so what was their weight?
