AFAIK, if you want to use the EF engine, you will need to change it from coil pack to dizzy to start with. If you have the alt/ps pump etc on the motor, you can use them (need to change a couple of plugs). Best thing would be to use your existing inlet manifold (seeing as you dont have smartlock) on the ef motor, BUT, if you use the ef ancilleries, you will need to change the pulleys to XH ones so that they clear the manifold. Otherwise, you can fit all of the parts from your eb motor, but that means changing timing covers, water pumps etc. Fit up the ef motor with your eb inlet, then, down the track, fit up an ed loom, that way you will be able to fit the bbm, and run an el ecu. By the way though, if you use the ef alt etc, you will need to fit thermo fans also.

And yes, the same applies to any ea-ed model.
