Cheers for that, have to see how the cash is holding up with that filter, lol, or if they are even there by the time I get to Autobarn at around 1pm tomorrow.

K&N oil filters are great, and any rechargeable air filter is good IMO... they usually have a 1,000,000km warranty...

When are you meant to replace oil filters anyway? Every how many k's? I guess that oil filter would mean I would not have to buy a new one for a while.

id stick with the ryco ones aswell. unless there is something particularly special about the k and n ones, 25 bucks for an oil filter strikes me as a bit steep

i'd just use the standard ryco/valvoline oil filters. it's too much hassle cleaning the k&n oil filters.

Well it went off with barely a hitch, thanks to all for your wise words.

Only problem was that tool to remove the oil filter was too small. So I had to drive down to Super Cheap in my mum's Barina to get a tool. Once I got there I remember I was wearing my Elton John Tour shirt that my uncle had given me (I use it for work around the house), hehe.

All in all, an interesting and satisfying procedure.

Cheers.

You don't really need a oil filter removal tool.. I've always done mine by hand, so long as no turkey wrenches it on tight when it was installed.

Yeah mate I gave it a good try getting it off by hand by she seemed to be on there quite tight. Got one of those alternate tools one of you brought up, for tight places (coz dang it was tight, lol).

Haha, thanks man. I was trying to cover the shirt but the front has a huge a** picture of the man himself, lol. Barina was fun for a change, manual, hehe.

Thanking you. And yes got the K&N air filter with the spunky stickers, lol. Didn't get the K&N oil fiter, I can't see an oil filter really being a performance part. Guys at the Autobarn desk did try and get me to buy one though, but went with a Ryco one.

Question, is Motorcraft a Ford company? Because they had Motorcraft oil filters there and then below that there was Ford Motor Company of Australia... Victoria, etc.

Yeah it was. And it will save me money after the initial cost of the K&N air filter.

I bet you found that a hell of a lot easier.

Glad to hear you got it all worked out then. No more paying out rediculous servicing charges to a mechanic.
