I've just bought a 93 EB 5 Litre and can find no sign of a dip stick for the Auto transmission under the bonnet. Can anyone tell me how to check the auto oil on this model?
Any advice would be appreciated.

The dipstick should be there, drivers side near the firewall.
If there is no dipstick, the trans has been replaced with a trans out of an EFII or EL, which had no dipstick. They have a plug on the side of the trans.

Thanks for the advice, there's definatly no dipstick where it should be in front of the driver, because the car is lowered and the exaust wraps around the auto pan it's hard to see where the tube should leave the auto. What has me perplexed is the owners handbook shows the dipstick in the 6 but not the 8, a few engine photos I've seen also don't have the yellow dipstick where it should be and they were older than ELs?

Possibly its had a new trans from a later model that has the dipstick deleted.....you'd definately be able to see it if it has one though - comes out between the brake booster and the extractors on the drivers side

Yep it's the reverse of our work EL which has a dipstick because it now has an ED trans in it. You can't see the V8 dipstick as easily because its effectively behind the right hand head.

What youv'e said makes sense, I'm just going to have to get under it and have a closer look at the auto.
Cheers
