Hi,
I'm attempting to install a trip computer in my EBII Gli, I've read the Tech Doco on this site but have a question. Below is a pic of the plug: I've got a wiring loom with 10 wires (colours don't correspond to the colours on the tech doc, but I'll compromise) I'm just not sure which way the pins run. Could someone please assist by indicating which way the pins run? I would guess pin 1 is bottom row, leftmost column. Pin 2 is top row leftmost column etc. But I have no idea really. i installed one in my eb 2 not too long ago, yes i believe your rite, ill give u a tip dont do what i did with the cable that needs to come from the ecu and get it from the loom behind the dash, it needs to come from the base of the ecu, itll save headaches further on trust me, and its a pretty easy conversion so long as you know what your doing, most cables are on the switches above it and already in the clock connector

Thanks for the tips,
So can someone please confirm the plug pin config as pictured is: 2 4 6 8 10 12 1 3 5 7 9 11 the wires harness I have have connectors that clip into the plug as pictured..I've already spent a good hour and a half removing one pushed in prematurely |

Youve got that pin layout totally wrong
From the angle you have it, it goes 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12

Sorry to use your thread but does anyone know why the dimmer function doesn't work with the trip meter? I've just done the install in a EA and put climate control in too....so much for not swapping the airbox!
The dimmer function is working on the climate control unit and I'm using the same wiring for both. I've swapped in a different trip meter and it doesn't work either. It just stays dimmed until I turn the ignition key to ACC. The climate control works fine, key on or off. Thought I'd keep this info together so people searching might find it easier. Let me know if I should start a new thread. Chris |

The trip computer doesn't light up with the key off... try pressing the clock button up the top while its off, it lights up.. but with the key off, its dimmed, thats how they work.
