Hey All

My EL Fairmont is pissing me off.

The door lock thing sits up too high, and when the locks go down when you lock the doors it still sticks up a bit.
What can I do to fix this?

Easy to fix. follow this steps:

1. wind the window down to allow you to work from outside the car.
2. get a piece of cloth to protect the button and use adjustable plier to squarely grip the button then pull.
3. once you removed the button, extend the white plastic retainer clip inside the button all the way out.
3. activate smartlock so that all doors are in lock position. This step is what you are missing. The plunger must be in down position before returning the button.
4. Now slowly return the button until the white clip reaches the bottom of the door trim. Once you've done this the button should still be extended to at least 1cm.
5. now give a good firm tap on the button to return in its flush position.
