Sounds like a good price to me.

I was quoted $1600.00 for a chip + tuning + dyno.

I was "guaranteed" at least 170kw at the wheels too.

Mate, pop your passenger kickpanel off, get the catchcode off your ECU (four characters, something like 2BDA), send a PM to XR9UTE with that code, and find out if your ECU has twEECer support.
f**k better option then a unichip.

yeh, thats probably a better option, with all those guys in the states running them. i didn't even think of that while mine was running like dogs balls. where can u get em tuned in melb or is it a DIY job? can u tune the tweecers live?

gunit18, your ECU might not have support. Its mostly EB-ED V8 EEC4's that are supported.
Might be worth a PM to check anyway.

I thought you made 186 rwkw before unichip ? Isn't it on 17X rwkw atm ? I've heard a few things around about your car - would be nice to know exactly how it's going - hanging to see it on the road / track sometime soon !

Sure - but if you don't make any changes to the car, then you're good to go.

had a best of 186rwkw, but was leaning out. so got detuned to 175rwkw. i need to change the stock injectors/maf.
unichip will be ok if you do the mods first. you have to get it retuned if you do another mod though i think?
try get as much info on both, most guys on here are swinging towards the tweecer which mite be ur best bet.

(my cars in the workshop again but should be out this weekend if anyone wants to go for a cruise around town. getting new lifters.)
