Is it possible just to turn a engine over by hand a few times? My 5.0L hasn’t been started for 4 months due to some dash-out interior mods (amongst other things) And I don't want it to seize on me. So yeah can it be done? :)

sure can.pull the plugs out-note the leads where they go,put a socket on crank balancer nut-bolt,best is long handle t bar to turn motor over, you get about 1\3 of a turn, knock yourself out with turns.

why pull the plugs out if you don't mind me asking? (battery is disconnected)

and since its been sitting for so long, would turning it over harm the engine becuase (probably) the oil has drained from the top end back into the sump?

how much force is required to turn it over? is 4 months unstarted a long time? (Motor was in prefect health)

if you dont pull the plugs out, and you still have compression, it'll be hard to turn by hand.

LOL i'd disconnect coil lead/coil pack (Whichever you have) and spin it over by the key.
4 Months isn't a long time, i've had engines sit around for YEARS and started them without any problems.
