well the rocker ratio between EF and EA is all the same, so you shouldnt have had a drama in regards to the rockers, unless indeed your top end is a AU/hybrid item, in which case thats Ford's fault as all hybrid motors were meant to bew built from 98 on

So...not really crow's fault at all

Nope not Crow's fault, they have replied to my emails in a rather professional manner willing to exchange if required.

I appreciate that...
For the time being the car runs quit good, but I picked up the old cam and rocker set yesterday, need to replace one rocker and its ready for the next change out.
Next time I'll have a good handle on it...

Why would Ford reduce the size of the rocker build/material/strength?
I can understand the roller size taking friction into account but why the rockers?
Cost cutting?
Does it make the EA set stronger and more durable?

What you all think?

Definately not cost cutting - would have cost a lot of money to redesign and build the new rocker gear.

Its also not weaker, since the rockers have a little bit more of a mechanical advantage (or less mechanical disadvantage) to push the valves down.

Id say ford were just refining the top end in a similar way they refined the bottom end at the same time.

Hi,
Nothing is meant to be to serious...
I know I'm not.

As I said this Forum is bloody handy to find out the small things that arent in the manual, also sharing experiences, like mine.

Call me what you want but its a learning curve I'm prepared to share with others in a manner not to belittle them.

the reply i gave

look man. you started with name calling an s**t befor i did. you also kept it going and made pretty big point of in one of later posts.

in my first post i asked a pretty simple question.

then i offer some help about the HLAs and you keep up with being a smart a**, so yeah expect to be called a f**k head for it.

if you had just answered my first questions i would have gladly helped you out. but no, you had to act the way you did.

and now the reply from him...

Hi,

Well I finally received a 222825 for my XH 4.0L Falcon.
Low and behold, go to fit the cam to find out the Journals are to wide for my rocker gear.

For those who are interested, it turns out that prior to my purchase of my XH, it has had a head change. An AU head was used...

Spoke with Ray at Crow Cams, no problems with returing the product, great service.

Changed it out yesterday with a 2232549.

Noticeable difference.

And now would be a good time to post a new topic stating that Ray from Crow really is a good bloke who knows what he's doing.

IMO. Argueing on the internet is like participating in the special olympics...

No matter the outcome, no matter who wins. You're still retarded. (No pun intended)

But good to hear the outcome was positive on the cam install, and hopefully it treats you well.

Next project is to remove the Powerchip Gold add-on and replace it with a
Chiptorque unit..

Can anyone give me an idea on the outcome once the Chiptorque unit is installed?

I'm running a Powerchip Gold add-on at the moment but she dont really idle that good at all, once off the line it rips along....
