well heres a slight predicament, as an easy alternative to my pod filter being unboxed i opted to putting an el airbox in and some air intake piping back to the throttle body, now this is all well and good and works marvelously but , heres the problem, being an eb and having normally had a top mounted snorkel the bottom mount el gt snorkel kinks my radiator hose that runs between the thermo housing and the radiator, i am lookin for pics of els and pics preferably or ideas from other early e series owners that have done the same thing,

cheers, greg! any feedback would be appreciated, then ill post pics of how i did it :D

I put an AU III XR8 snorkel on my normal EB airbox. Comes close to the power steer pump , but it works fine.

[quote="cooki_monsta"]I know theres one user on here that has used an el box in an early e 6 but i dont know who.

I would be that user yeh had similar problem just went and got EL thermostat chamber and hose $20 and fitted that. freed up heaps of space now the AUIII snorkel fits, also had to make a 3inch Diameter whole in airbox to run hose from throttle body. Oh and block the original EL outake on the lid, wats the point of a hot and cold air intake?

Any other questions let me know.

I cut a hole for the snorkle, used the orginal bit of rubber from the original intake to seal it nicely and look sort of factory. the bottom hole originally went to the EA intake manifold as per normal, but with a few ribs cut off one end as the EF/EL box is wider. I also had a block of plate where the standard ef/el piping went, and cut down one corner of a standard ef/el air filter, mounted it upside down that way and used that till i put a pod in.

As for now, i have nothing on it, have to get around to fixing it up :)

looks weird :? . I don't see any advantage with that twisty intake pipe from the TB to the Airbox. But i haven't tried it, did you notice any difference? :)
