So...Recently, even though my economy button (in my EF) is on, it only activates itself after about 1minute after my car has been started. Does anyone know why this is happening? It was working fine b4 but now its really weird. In fact i can tell its in economy mode even when the lights not on. Anyone else have this prob.

Bulb on its way out, and the filament might be just touching.

Check for a fault code. 786 - Power indicator light. If this code is present, your bulb would be at fault.

And as 66 coupe just reminded me, it will flash regularly while the transmission is screaming "I'm Overheated!!"

Na it doesnt do it because its overheating its just when im drivin normal. but once the cars been running for a while it will just stay on until the cars turned off. Is this the bulb? And no, it doesnt flash, its constant

Check for that fault code. EECV will tell you if its the bulb or not. At least it will rule out one thing. Unfortunately, if one of the wires going to that bulb has an intermittant break in it, the same code will pop up.

Does the car have any other mods installed that would affect the gear changes? Like one of those kits that detects rapid pedal movement and automatically puts you into power mode?

Another question: Does the delay seem timed? If you wait till the light comes on, then switch the engine off then on again, does the light then stay off for another period of time?
