There are a few people which had the factory amp (Premium) already installed, and they basically just swapped the factory with aftermarket adn got a new sub!

Not too sure, but i think a while back there was a thread on this so try a search

go to www.caraudioaustralia.com and talk to bob^ he's gone all out on his BA. otherwise it's easy to (like he has after time) fit an aftermarket cd player where to power source is under the ICC.

I just got a quote on a fully installed system including head, front speakers, 2 channel speaker amp, sub amp, twin subs, cabling, fully installed for $1900. Pretty good I thought. This included the face plates that allowed the new head to blend with the current dash. I might get the whole setup done if I can get the cash together.

does taking out the stock unit affect the way the air con/heating etc works? I have a premium unit and all the info comes up on the screen - dont know whether taking the unit out affects it.

Something like this would be the go if you have premium http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-BA-Falcon-a ... dZViewItem

You cant use the stock wiring from the sub amp, because it runs on 5v or something, so either way you have to run all new power cabling to any amp you install. Line convertor thing off the speakers is the go as well. I can show you how mine is set up if you like - Im south of the river.
