What would provide the most benefit... a hi-stall or a lower ratio LSD?
Is it a case that they would provide different benefits? I ask because as usual cash is tight and I would like to get one or the other...

Go the stall first, Its a little cheaper, and will return good results for economy as well. Diff later. I did both, and the dilema of diff and speedo error is to much of a pain, so i say do the stall and see if it suits

The task of launching a falcon off the line has been left up to clumsy diff ratio changes, which is great for the drag strip but only leads to huge fuel consumption on the Street. Matched with the cost of re-calibrating the speedo and altering speed limiters to get your vehicle running correctly, only makes diff ratio changes a very expensive and stressful task.

Yeah I realise the diff change would be more costly and stressful.. but I'm not a stressful person.. I'm a problem solver hehehe
With the diff can't you just get a different speedo sender or one of those jaycar/altronics units? As for the speed limiter.. I dont have one of those.

Is it really that much hassle?

speedo gear changes only work up to 3.45:1 gears. although with the BA/BF having shorter gears there may be something to look at there.

you then need the correct ECU to match the speedo gear to get the righ shift points. once you go past 3.45:1 no ecu will have the shift p[oint if you managed to get a speedo gear.

it's pretty much a case of suffer the speedo being out and having the right shift points

So what do we have avaliable in terms of hi stall torque converters? I only have heard of the JMM one.

Alted are doing them as well

The problem with hi-stalls is the car will feel a bit doughey when driving normally and there will be a lot more heat created by a high stall meaning you have to put in a bit trans cooler as well
