There's numerous stories about it been smart lol. If anything for the ECU, I would go with an EBII EEC-IV, and use a map sensor, same wiring loom(a bit of modification), and a much better system. Or go the whole mile and get an aftermarket system.... but in your case it seems like your not after that. Cheers

I agree that most XE/XF heads have the relief cut out for injectors, I also believe that the pindle cap on the injector just protrudes past the intake requiring the heads to have the reliefs, plus the fact it would affect the spray pattern.
I also agree the EFI heads have a different combustion chamber, just check the compression ratio specs for both lead and unleaded EFI engines against carby 4.1. The biggest agreement for me would be to piss off the factory injection system, there isn't anything wrong with the intake, head or throttle body etc but the system works off crank case vacuum and uses a vane airflow meter, both of these are far from reliable. Either try adapting a later EEC-IV etc or aftermarket system, there would be far less problems in the future.
