I was wondering what ppls thoughts on my new paint colour.

I'm going to get my car sprayed the Deep Metallic Purple (Menace) that you find on XR's and to top it all off with a Gold pearl... and the final garnish will be White BF GTP side stripes...

Good idea? of firk that?

Fiiirrrrk that! White is awesome :p.
Phantom is a better colour anyway. And I dunno if the gold pearl will look and good on the purple. It's not a GT so you don't get side stripes. No arguments.
And besides if you did get those stripes it would look ridiculous, like a box of crayons on wheels. Purple paint, gold pearl, white stripes and alloys. Too many colours! Simple contrast is the best.

White Stipes are a no goer then... cool cool just saved me 200 bucks :P

I'm only going to put in 2 tablespoons on gold flakes into the pain for the whole car... so it will be noticeable... but not sticking out like dog's balls.

How long do you reackon that it would take to do a whole Falcon? 1wk? 2wks? i got quoted 6 wks and i though that is would be a little overboard really

i cant help thinking if you are going an all new colour, why not go for something thats NOT in the BA colour range.

I dunno, some wild green (like holden hothouse) or a slightly brighter purple.

specially with the body kit you want to put on, it wont stand out much.

and if you dont want it to stnad out... leave it white!!

Pearl in the paint doesn't really affect the appearance of the colour that much... For instance, my paint is a mix of burgundy, bordeaux, heritage red and a pink pearl. The pearl just makes it look that little bit different when the light hits it. "Sort" of like a really mild harlequin, in that it changes ever so slightly in different lights.

Gold pearl will be magic. Leave the whit stripes (hate their music too!!). If you wanna go for stripes, maybe the orange? Show a little heritage from the old XY GTHO days!

Yeah look at this pic of my car to see how the pearls in the paint change the colour in different light

Image

That's not a pearl paintjob as such, just phantom with a handful of different pearls mixed in.

I wouldn't paint it menace, it looks kinda dirty and it's a factory colour from the same model car you have. As nicco said go with something different. Go down to a paint shop and have a flick through their brochures and charts

I don't want to have too much gold pearl in the paint... i want it to be noticeable.. but only close up ish... cause i don't want to be a cop magnet.
