Hi all,

Just wondering, ...is it possible to fit an AU TE50 Series III Premium Sound in-dash 6-CD stacker into an EL XR6?

I know the actual unit is quite big (see pics), and there may be some cutting of the surround required ...but is it possible to do?

Anyone here actually done it?

I suppose I could just take it to a professional car stereo installers and ask them to install it, ...but I just wanted to know if it was actually POSSIBLE before I buy the unit!

Cheers guys.

main question would be mark, why do you want a factory stacker over a after market one?

Hehe, just liked the idea of having an in-dash stacker, rather than one 4 metres behind me in the boot!

I had an in-dash stacker in the BA as part of the Premium Sound option, so I suppose I'm looking at re-creating something similar.

I've already got my Kenwood MD LP deck to go into the EL XR6 when I get it, so I guess I could just buy & fit a Kenwood changer in the boot, ...just have to be careful with deck-changer compatibility.

is your deck mp3 compatible mark?

if not, that is a good option over getting a stacker, you can hold roughly 150 songs on an mp3 cd.

The Pioneer Head Unit I'm getting with the car does play MP3's & WAV. (see pic)

So I suppose a stacker would not really be required, but I'm still going to look out for one.

its just when you think about it..

6 disc in dash = about 20 songs per disc * 6 = 120 songs..

you can get that easily on 1 mp3 cd.
