Hi folks,
The plan is to have some fun with the AU while keeping a sleeper look about it. So onto stage one...exhaust... is a high flow cat worth the investment? I've heard and read a few different opinions. Consensus seems to be the standard falcon cat flows bloody well as it is. Anyone shed any further light onto this? And finally does anyone have any experience with Mercury exhausts? My local exhaust centre uses entire packages from them (extractors, 2.5 inch systems), yet I'd never heard of them before he mentioned them. Cheers for hearing me out. Ian |

what AU u got?
ive been told that the AU XR6s have 2.5 inch cats as standard. id go exractors and exhaust first. the cat wont make much of a difference (unless the cat is blocked)

hi
i just put a new cat on my car . i also asked about high flow cats i was told by the exhaust place that unless your running high performance turbo/supercharged or are chasing big hp numbers there is no real advantage in a high flow cat. i went from std 2 1/4" cat to no cat (straight pipe)with no performance gains at all. then i fitted a new 2 1/2" cat the only difference was the car was heaps louder with no cat.. but due to the laws on emissions i put a new cat . but some people would say yes .. i dont think it will make any difference.. |
