Hey guys i kno its a big ask but if ne1 knows could they give me a quick run down on whats involved in fixing fiberglass to metal and getting it to look pretty? Am ordering a bulge in a week and wondering if i have a hope of completing it myself?? Or possibly doing at least some of it anyway. Im not trying to be tight here its just i have completed every mod to my car so far myself and would like to be able to say (truthfully ) at the end of it all i built this....

hey i was going to do the same thing, but to fix fibreglass to metal is really hard. the reason for me not doing it, after it is fixed to your bonnet it will crack around the edges, your are better off looking for a ba bonnet with a buldge and cuttiing it out and then fixing it to the bonnet.

Fibreglass polyester resin doesn't bond very well to metal. Especially on something as potentially flexible as a bonnet, it's probably a matter of when, rather than if, it starts cracking.
I've been a fibreglasser for 28 years and I refuse to do that sort of work, simply because you can't put a guarantee on it.
I haven't tried it and I don't intend to commercially, but I wouldn't mind betting that sikaflexing your scoop onto the bonnet, with the minimal amount of bogging, would be a better bet.
