get a compression test i bet its the water pump, mine blew up hitting the rev limiter, it was all rusted n corroded.

I had this problem on my EA, oil was also still clean. Turned out to be porosity holes in the head. can i ask how does it smell like when it comes out of the exhaust? cause my exhaust smells funny :S. if its running rich it should smell more like petrol.......and if its lean it should smell more like CO. but mixed with coolant does it smell sourish? cause my exhaust smells a bit rich and "sour" or foul smell like its off. im not loosing coolant i dont think :S phong =P~

Your sour smell could be normal exhaust smell from Catylitic convertor. Smells like "rotten eggs" Hydrogen sulfide gas.
Exhaust smells like coolant if coolant is going into the cylinders.
