wot sort of things should i be doing with my fairlane in the way of maintaining her..i just did a basic service,so anything else i should do??im new too this v8 stuff

Nothing much, change the oil, oil filter, air filter (if you dont have a re-usable one), spark plugs, leads perhaps. Thats about it. They're pretty bullet proof compared to a lot of other motors.
Just the usual stuff like above is usually fine.
Just drive and enjoy, but if its auto, it would be a good idea to get that serviced every now and then.
Apart from the do it yourself maintenance things, just enjoy driving it.

maybe think about doing fuel filter and giving injectors a clean.

Change the fluffy dice hanging off the rear view mirror at least once every six months. Can be changed later but check with an expert like Walker.
