Just wanted to know if anyone has any opinions on the bosch super 4 spark plugs (4 post "performance" plugs). Thought I'd give them a go, its going in a duel fuel EL i6 which runs more often on petrol than LPG at the moment.
it's about time I did the plugs and leads. According to the bosch catalogue it looks like I'm after the WR91V part but I'm not sure if thats also duel fuel since it has an LPG entry? (or is that straight LPG) which also has the same part number.. arrgh. http://apps.bosch.com.au/products/saa/sparkplugs_passenger.pdf page 22 of the catalogue. any help would be great

Yeah I was looking at those Super 4's yesterday at Supercheap. But I couldn't seem to find the part listing for them on the Shelf. Unless they have them locked up somewhere else. I was going to ask for them but like yourself wasn't sure whether they were worth the extra for them and so I ended up going the standard EL XR6 ones ( WR9-DLX) Yeah so if people could give more details on their experience with them that would be great

mine cost $57 from supercheap, alot smoother, runs ALOT better with optimax also my brothers EB GL (single point) kept fouling the plugs (especially no.4) and the super 4's fixed this.

are the super4 plugs available in projected gap versions? AFAIK the super 4's only come in the 4 post surface-air gap arrangement. The idea being the spark takes the shortest path so theres no need to gap them. Theres regular bosch non-super4's for EF/EL lpg (dedicated?) which has the plug code W8LCR. So how do you know which part it is if it doesnt list the actual product number for ordering them? This is what gets confusing about the bosch plug catalog. It basically says XF-EL falcons all use the same plug codes (lpg and tickford engines with their own) with the product number listed as a super 4 6pack. Some of the LPG plugs have a different product number while others have the same product number as a type listed as a super 4's but no separate product number listed for some of the LPG entries. Will they make up their mind and decide if its a super or a super4 with the same product numbers as the other plugs with the same plug code or what I still haven't worked out if the WR91V plugs are for duel fuel yet. arrgh.

I still haven't worked out if the WR91V plugs are for duel fuel yet. arrgh. yeah i know about there's no need to gap them, what i was getting at is the standard tickford lp gas are projected gap plugs, that is they are longer than petrol plugs and stick further out into the combustion chamber than petrol plugs so what i was asking is are the super 4 plugs projected gap plugs too, as in longer than petrol plugs, no wether they need to be gapped or not anyways, as i understand their catalogue, the WR91V plugs are for lp gas, my ef according to catalogue should have WR78 for lp gas, must be something to do with the different ignition system best way to answer your question and mine is to ask bosch, so that's what i going to do cheers |
