How does one know if/when the reciever/dryer needs replacing. I have my EL booked in for a regass on Friday as over the last two years the A/C is slowly becoming less effective.
Once this is done I can then think about pulling the dash out to replace that bloody air box as the recirc/outside air flap thingamy has busted. |

If you are going to mess around with your air cond evaporator unit, don't get the system gassed first. Chances are you may have to remove it from the car to repair it, and you will lose the gas.

I don't believe I have to touch the evap unit to replace the airbox wich houses the outside/recirc air flap behind the glove box. Please correct me if I am wrong!!!!

My local AC guy tells me they don't change the dryer as routine anymore, for them the customer must ask for it to be changed. I use to change mine every re-gas, about $30 more

It's good practice to change the reciever dryer yearly. ur AC guy'll charge u for a complete re-gas anyway so y not? $25 usually.
