Hey guys my EF XR6 has an aftermarket alarm fitted but has been playing up , when i push remote the doors unlock then lock again so i have to use key same problem when trying to lock by remote, I think the drivers side lock actuator has had it because there is no mechanical sound coming from that lock.any ideas or help cheers :) :)

Does the drivers door do the same thing when the dash doorlock switch is operated ???

yep
they all go up and down but drivers doesn't move

Yeah, looks like the drivers door actuator. With the door trim off, unplug it and see if the others stay locked/unlocked. Finally, disconnect the snipper button and it's connecting rod, plug the actuator back in to it's loom and see if it does the same. Check the wiring for that door just in case the wiring has been pinched, crushed, etc.
The actuators can be dismantled, but I'd say it's better to get another one from a wreckers or whatever.
Aftermarkets can be fitted - there is a doco on this.
I've done both my cars and I can say it's a big improvement on the stock items.

yep was the actuator replaced it dorrs are perfect again,thanks for the advice snap
