How do you guys get enough room under the dash to disconnect the cable from the pedal.
On the ef its right up the top and i just dont have any room to move when lying underneath it. There just doesn't seem to be any room to get my hands up there or access it? How do you guys do it? Or am i meant to remove something first to get at the cable

Ok i replaced the cable, but what im finding is that the nut that adjusts the pedal stroke on the outer firewall slowly becomes loose and hence 'self adjusts' itself.
How do i stop the adjusting nut from moving by itself? I remember some people said they had 2 nuts on their cable one to adjust and the other to stop it from moving like mine. Is it as simple as putting another nut behind it?

either that or get a nyloc nut on it, she won't move!
The only downside is you have to get upside down again! Just make sure the pivot lever in the bell housing where the cable attaches isn't pulling through, I don't recall clutch cables loosening themself 'that often'

What do you mean by pivot lever?
As you can tell i'm just starting to learn all this DIY mechanical stuff. If it helps it started to loosen itself just after i tried adjusting the cable one day, then i replaced the cable and its still doing this.

Is it as simple as putting another nut behind it? Are you sure it's the nut thats moving? The slow adjustment you mentioned could likely be the clutch pedal spigot on the pedal box failing, gradually bending in.
