Hi Kids.

I got bored today and installed auto power window winders, just the kit from jaycar.

works all well and good, but atm ive got it triggering from the door lock. Now this is fine most of the time, but im just worried about those times when doors lock accidentally, like when you lean on the snipper knob or something.

Is there somewhere i can trigger it from, from the smartlock, or osmething like that ?

is there a BEM input to lock the doors i could use, or something like that ?

BEM supplies power to the power windows for 30 seconds or whatever after ignition is turned off... trigger it off that?

Cheers

thats where its triggered atm.
but its all the same circuit, so if you push the button down, it still activates the windows !

what I was saying is that the windows only go up not with the button, but when power windows loose power from the BEM.(provide power for the windows from this circuit)...

Cheers

mmm but thats not when i want them triggered.
but i guess it is an alternate idea.
id have to take a look at a schematic, which i dont have atm, but there would have to be a way to trigger it from the smartlock module

You're not being real clear in your initial post, but I assume you only want auto winders to have power during doors locking and engine is off. So I would look at having 2 interlocks - doors are locked and engine is off.

What you could do is add a 5 pin relay to your current power feed - hook up pins 30 and 87A. Pins 86 & 85 go to IGN power and earth. The relay is not closed unless it is deenergised. This way if doors lock when the engine is running, no power is available to autowind because IGN is not off.
I take it you've read this as well: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=6

mmm ok it doesnt, but it does however mention using a diode, so that may fix the problem.
