air flow meter affects mixture
coolant temp sensor affects what? throttle position sensor affects what? reason: i have a highly modified motor that runs rich at idle and pings at high rpm. |

Airflow and tps affect acceleration enrichment Air temp sensor in the airflow meter is only a reference. Coolant temp is for warmup purposes Knock sensor is for retarding timing What mods have you done? Cheers

didnt you understand? the ECU controls mixture and timing according to inputs from the AFM, coolant temp sensor, the crank angle sensor in the dizzy, the TPS and the knock sensor and exactly how "highly modified" is your engine?

my motor has;
30 thou oversize high compression pistons crank, pistons and rods all balanced mild 1800 - 4500 rpm cam larger inlet valves head flow tested to 300hp all inlets match ported and polished custom inlet pipe allowing straight flow from afm to throttle body (battery in boot) headers straight through 2.5 inch exhaust thermo fans instead of clutch fan egr and isc valves both removed where can resistors be added to sensors to correct timing and mixture problems??? |

dont add resistors, the best thing you can do is go for an aftermarket ECU

piss off the airflow meter setup and use a latter model EEC4 the cheapest mod u can do and u will be supprised with the results or someone suggest get a aftermarket ECU thats programmable cheers

im trying to avoid the cost of an aftermarket ecu.
i have 129rwkw now but the injection is holding it back, it is capable of much more. what model is the eec4 afm out of and how is it wired in?? |

it itsnt *that* expensive to go to an aftermarket ECU, cheapest option would be megasquirt
EECIV was used in various forms from the early 80's right up to the EL's, so you can pick and choose, but in any case, its gonna require some remapping

megasuirt is a build-it-yourself replacement
